Resumen
La investigación tubo el propósito de identificar la prevalencia de la malnutrición de
niños y niñas menores de 5 años, y su relación con funcionamiento familiar y los
determinantes sociales de la salud, es un estudio de campo descriptivo, y de corte
transversal, con fase de relación. En el presente estudio se evidencio que la
población menor de cinco años del municipio de Puerto Colombia (Atlántico), se
encuentra en riesgo, porque el porcentaje en la variable P/E es de un 28,9%
siendo bastante considerable, particularmente los menores de 2 años, de
igual forma en este mismo número de porcentaje, los niños se encuentran en
riesgo en cuanto a la talla para la edad, y no obstante en peso para la talla
observamos que existe un riesgo de sobre peso con un 13,3%.
El 28,9% de la población menor El 12,3% de los niños incluidos en la muestra
padecían desnutrición crónica.
