Resumen
Esta investigación abordó el tema sobre el Síndrome de Burnout, enfermedad profesional causada por las excesivas cargas de trabajo, agotamiento emocional, y bajos niveles de satisfacción profesional, acompañado por otros síntomas físicos y sociales.
El objetivo principal de la investigación fue reconocer la existencia de este síndrome en los docentes y establecer estrategias que permitan mitigar la presencia del Síndrome de Burnout en los profesores de la facultad de ingeniería de la Universidad Simón Bolívar, sede Barranquilla. Se plantea una metodología con enfoque mixto de tipo descriptivo porque se pretende identificar las posibles relaciones entre las variables síndrome de burnout, estrés laboral y clima organizacional para establecer estrategias de afrontamiento basándonos en los resultados arrojados por el test que se le realizó a la población docente.
De acuerdo con el análisis realizado se puede concluir que si hay presencia de casos de síndrome de Burnout pero el número no prevalece sobre los que no presentan indicios de padecerlo. Además, se puede afirmar que el clima organizacional en este estudio arrojó resultados muy positivos por lo que se descartó como posible causa del síndrome en la facultad, dejando como factor el estrés laboral, por lo que las estrategias planteadas fueron enfocadas a disminuir el estrés en el trabajo.
This research addressed the subject of Burnout Syndrome, an occupational disease caused by excessive workloads, emotional exhaustion, and low levels of professional satisfaction, accompanied by other physical and social symptoms. The main objective of the research was to recognize the existence of this syndrome in teachers and to establish strategies to mitigate the presence of Burnout Syndrome in the professors of the engineering faculty of the Universidad Simón Bolívar, Barranquilla. A methodology with a mixed approach of descriptive type is proposed because it is intended to identify the possible relationships between the variables burnout syndrome, work stress and organizational climate to establish coping strategies based on the results of the test that was conducted to the teaching population. According to the analysis, it can be concluded that there are cases of burnout syndrome, but that the number does not prevail over those who do not show signs of suffering from it. In addition, it can be affirmed that the organizational climate in this study showed very positive results, so it was discarded as a possible cause of the syndrome in the institution, leaving work stress as a factor, so the strategies proposed were focused on reducing stress at work.
