The present research is entitled: "Human Competitiveness and its relationship with professorial permanence in a Higher Education Institution", which seeks to analyze the relationship between the dimensions of human competitiveness and professorial permanence in a HEI in the city of Barranquilla. The methodological approach used is quantitative, correlational, the study is based on a non-experimental cross-sectional design of the Ex post facto type. Two surveys were applied to 145 professors with more than 10 years of affiliation, the first survey focused on Human Competitiveness included 14 items and the second on Professorial Permanence, was structured with 7 items. The data were tabulated and analyzed through R-Studio. The dimensions of Human Competitiveness most strongly correlated with job stability are the social dimension (0.75) and the emotional dimension (0.72), followed by the physical and spiritual dimensions (0.7), and finally the intellectual dimension (0.6). The dimensions most strongly correlated with safe environment are the spiritual dimension (0.82) and the ethical dimension (0.73), followed by the social (0.71), intellectual (0.66), emotional (0.66) and physical (0.66) dimensions. The dimensions with high correlations with clear expectations are the emotional dimension (0.71), the physical dimension (0.71) and the social dimension (0.60), indicating that clear expectations significantly influence the emotional, physical and social relationships of teachers. The result of the present research revealed a significant relationship between the dimensions of human competitiveness (intellectual, emotional, social, ethical, physical and spiritual) and teacher permanence in a Higher Education Institution.
