In the constant search for sustainable and efficient solutions to improve the properties of concrete, the use of natural additives has become a significant area of interest in the construction industry. This article focuses on the use of cassava starch as an additive for concrete, with the aim of improving its compressive strength. Cassava starch, a biodegradable and easily available product, has been highlighted for its additive properties. This characteristic makes it a promising candidate to improve the durability and mechanical properties of concrete. The research presented is based on a series of laboratory experiments in which cassava starch was added in x proportion to the concrete. The results revealed that the inclusion of cassava starch in the concrete mixture significantly increases the compressive strength. This effect is attributed to the ability of cassava starch to act as a binding agent, strengthening the cement paste matrix and improving internal cohesion. The use of cassava starch as an additive in concrete shows great potential to improve the mechanical properties of the material, especially compressive strength. This research supports the viability of using natural and sustainable resources in the construction industry, opening new possibilities for the development of more efficient and environmentally friendly concrete
