Resumen
El presente estudio investiga la relación entre la funcionalidad familiar, Ansiedad, estrés y depresión que afectan la salud mental de estudiantes de 18 a 25 años de la universidad Simón Bolívar de Cúcuta. Los objetivos son identificar la funcionalidad familiar, establecer los niveles de ansiedad, estrés y depresión, y analizar la correlación entre estos elementos. La metodología empleada es de enfoque cuantitativo, utilizando un diseño correlacional y técnicas de recolección de datos a través de cuestionarios estandarizados, específicamente el DASS-21 para evaluar los niveles de las variables ansiedad, estrés y depresión y el APGAR familiar para medir la funcionalidad familiar. La muestra está compuesta por aproximadamente 103 estudiantes, lo que permite obtener resultados significativos. Los resultados preliminares indican que una baja funcionalidad familiar se asocia con niveles elevados de ansiedad, estrés y depresión en los estudiantes. Estos hallazgos subrayan la importancia de la dinámica familiar en el bienestar emocional de los jóvenes universitarios. Las conclusiones sugieren que abordar la funcionalidad familiar de manera integral puede ser crucial para mejorar la Ansiedad, estrés y depresión de los estudiantes. Este trabajo contribuye al entendimiento de cómo los factores familiares influyen en la salud mental, ofreciendo una base para futuras investigaciones y prácticas en el ámbito de la psicología y la educación. La investigación resalta la necesidad de atención a la salud mental en contextos académicos.
The present study investigates the relationship between family functionality, anxiety, stress and depression that affect the mental health of students from 18 to 25 years old at the Simón Bolívar University of Cúcuta. The objectives are to identify family functionality, establish levels of anxiety, stress and depression, and analyze the correlation between these elements. The methodology used is a quantitative approach, using a correlational design and data collection techniques through standardized questionnaires, specifically the DASS-21 to evaluate the levels of the variables anxiety, stress and depression and the family APGAR to measure family functionality. The sample is made up of approximately 103 students, which allows significant results to be obtained. Preliminary results indicate that low family functioning is associated with high levels of anxiety, stress and depression in students. These findings highlight the importance of family dynamics in the emotional well-being of university students. The conclusions suggest that addressing family functionality in a comprehensive manner may be crucial to improve anxiety, stress and depression in students. This work contributes to the understanding of how family factors influence mental health, offering a basis for future research and practice in the field of psychology and education. The research highlights the need for mental health care in academic contexts.
