Hypertension (HT) is a silent disease, generally asymptomatic, of multifactorial origin, its growth is strongly related to the patient's lifestyle where multiple serious complications can be triggered such as Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), which This occurs when the function of the kidneys is insufficient, therefore, it is not able to filter the different toxins from metabolism and other waste substances from the blood. Both pathologies constitute a major public health problem worldwide and affect a considerable percentage of the entire population, which is why our objective that was established for our project was to determine the risk of developing chronic kidney disease in hypertensive patients over 40 years of a health center in the municipality of Soledad - Atlántico, for which an instrument was used that took into account the glomerular filtration rate that was obtained with the MDRD formula and certain variables were taken into account. It was concluded that arterial hypertension is related to the increase in the incidence of chronic kidney disease, a higher rate of appearance in 60-year-old patients, with a percentage of 59.3% and it is more prevalent in females with 71%. Conclusion: Age is one of the factors that has the greatest influence on the development of chronic kidney disease in hypertensive patients.
