Resumen
Introducción: La pandemia de salud global emergente originada por la Covid-19 ha causado una alta morbilidad y mortalidad en todo el mundo, se han informado síntomas que progresan a un estado funcional deficiente en una proporción sustancial de pacientes con COVID-19, el presente estudio tuvo como objetivo identificar la capacidad funcional en sujetos post covid-19 de la ciudad de Barranquilla. Materiales y método: En el estudio participaron 160 sujetos Post Covid-19 mayores de 18 años de la ciudad de Barranquilla. Se utilizó la escala de estado funcional Post Covid-19 (PCFS) para identificar la capacidad funcional. Resultados: Se encuestaron 160 sujetos con antecedentes de COVID 19 de la Ciudad de Barranquilla, siendo el 63,7% (102) de sexo femenino y el 36,3% (58) masculino, asimismo el 60% de los encuestados correspondió al rango de edad entre 18-27 años. Casi la mitad de los participantes (47,5%) cursaron la secundaria completa, técnico-tecnológico (25%) y el (23,8%) son profesionales. El estrato socioeconómico más frecuente fue 1 (48,8%) y los barrios participantes fueron; El Bosque, Buenos aires, Barrio abajo, Boston, Cevillar, etc. El 3,1% manifestaron que necesitan ayuda actividades básicas de la vida diaria como lo son la alimentación, el baño/la ducha, la movilidad funcional, dormir, actividad sexual, el higiene personal y aseo. Se demostró que los sujetos presentaron limitaciones funcionales ligeras en mayor proporción. Por lo tanto, se concluye que las consecuencias a largo plazo del COVID-19 pueden variar ampliamente entre los pacientes, dependiendo de la edad, las comorbilidades y otros factores.

The most frequent socioeconomic stratum was 1 (48.8%) and the participating neighborhoods were El Bosque, Buenos Aires, Barrio Below, Boston, Cevillar, etc. 3.1% stated that they need help with basic activities of daily living such as eating, bathing/showering, functional mobility, sleeping, sexual activity, personal hygiene and grooming. It was shown that the subjects presented slight functional limitations in a greater proportion. Therefore, it is concluded that the long-term consequences of COVID-19 can vary widely among patients, depending on age, comorbidities and other factors.
