The limited sociocultural interaction between students often limits development, hindering the enriching potential that greater interaction could offer to the educational community as a whole, including students, teachers and administrative staff. It is then that the present research study makes an analysis of the factors that influence the sociocultural interaction of the youth of the Arhuaco, Inga and U'wa indigenous communities and the ISER students in the municipality of Pamplona Norte de Santander. To address the problem, the use of narrative, structured interviews and the focus group were proposed as techniques for collecting information, treated from an interpretive paradigm and considering theories of intercultural education, where after a comparison of experiences it was evident that ISER students face challenges of adaptation and cultural diversity. Considering that the object of study is focused on the qualitative approach, because it is intended to speak from the own experiences and perceptions of students and young people from indigenous communities in relation to adaptation and socialization, using the phenomenological design that seeks to describe and interpret the reality of the action variables of students and indigenous communities between relating, adapting or isolating themselves, and thus understand the challenges that affect sociocultural interaction. In conclusion, the research project shows the need to strengthen the strategies of sociocultural interaction that are the fundamental key to the formation of an identity and thus generate a multicultural environment.
