Colombia has experienced decades of armed conflict, drug trafficking and social inequality, which has contributed to an environment of widespread violence. Although women have undoubtedly been victims of gender violence, men also suffer violence in various forms, which can be physical, psychological, and structural. In many communities, the traditional expectations of masculinity and the role of the man as a provider and protector have generated pressures that sometimes lead to violence both towards themselves and others. The purpose of this research work is to analyze the legal framework of violence against men in Colombia and to know the male point of view about gender violence. The methodology is mixed because the cases of violence against men in Colombia were analyzed, whose paradigms were: historical hermeneutic and social criticism, in this surveys were carried out to 10 male students of the fifth and sixth semester of the Simón Bolívar University headquarters in Barranquilla where it was used as a data collection technique, which allowed to have a better obtaining of information, to know how educated men are about the entities to which they go at the time of being victims. In the discussion it is proposed that violence against men is underestimated both in terms of research and attention, there is a strong cultural pressure that prevents men from perceiving themselves as victims, which leads to it being an invisible issue. In addition, the lack of specific support programs for male victims contributes to the perpetuation of silence around them.
