Resumen
El objetivo de este estudio es analizar la gestión en la eficiencia portuaria y la competitividad del puerto de Manzanillo, Colima, México. Se adoptó un paradigma interpretativo con enfoque metodológico cualitativo, empleando la técnica de análisis documental y revisión bibliográfica como método de investigación. Los resultados indican que los factores que influyen en las operaciones logísticas de la eficiencia portuaria y competitividad del Puerto de Manzanillo son la infraestructura portuaria, saturación de carga y capacitación aduanera; debido a que se evidenció que los principales desafíos que presenta el puerto están enfocados en aspectos de inversión, planificación, proyección territorial e implementación de procesos de actualización tecnológica y profesional en su personal. Así mismo, se propuso como iniciativa de mejora la creación de cadenas de valor a través de la inversión pública
y privada en nuevas tecnologías y activos fijos con la finalidad de mitigar los desafíos que afectan el movimiento de grandes volúmenes de carga a un menor tiempo y costo dentro de la capacidad instalada de las terminales marítimas del Puerto de Manzanillo.
The objective of this study is to analyze port efficiency management and the competitiveness of the port of Manzanillo, Colima, Mexico. An interpretative paradigm with a qualitative methodological approach was adopted, using the documentary analysis technique and literature review as the research method. The results indicate that the factors that influence the logistics operations of port efficiency and competitiveness of the Port of Manzanillo are port infrastructure, cargo saturation and customs training; since it was evidenced that the main challenges presented by the port are focused on aspects of investment, planning, territorial projection and implementation of technological and professional updating processes in its personnel. Likewise, it was proposed as an improvement initiative the creation of value chains through public and private investment in new technologies and fixed assets in order to mitigate the challenges that affect the movement of large volumes of cargo at a lower time and cost within the installed capacity of the maritime terminals of the Port of Manzanillo.
