The present research aims to compare the dimensions of psychological well-being of students who practice and do not practice Folk Dance at the Simón Bolívar University in Cúcuta. According to Ortiz and Castro (2009), they consider that psychological well-being is the perception or subjective appreciation of feeling or being well, of being in good spirits, of feeling satisfied. This state of well-being experienced by individuals depends on social and personal conditions, as well as on the way in which individuals face them. In order to make this subjective perception positive, it is necessary to maintain good health on a general level, that is, both physically and mentally; and for this there are various alternatives, one of which is to practice dance. Practicing dance brings great benefits to mental and physical health, in addition to being an activity, often free or low cost, and that can be practiced with ease (Gonzalez, 2015). Thus, the sample is made up of two groups; one is the students who belong to the exora dance group of the university in total 20 people and the other group is normal students also made up of 20 people between the ages of 18 to 27 years; giving a positivist paradigm, a quantitative approach, we used a non-experimental design and a comparative scope, the instrument used was Carol Ryff's psychological welfare scale in 1995 whose version was adapted to the Spanish version by (Diaz 2006), it is worth noting the reason for this research which revolves around the psychological welfare of students who practice and do not practice the folk dance of the Simon Bolivar University, in this way to identify the levels of psychological welfare in students taking into account the six dimensions of psychological welfare: As a result of this research it was obtained that the students who practice the dance have better levels of psychological well-being than the students who do not practice, therefore the exora group obtained a score of 55%, that is to say with a better level of psychological well-being; In conclusion the psychological well-being is better in the students that practice the dance in the university Simon Bolivar, it is verified that the dance serves to diminish so much its emotional loads, physical and also according to its surroundings like the labor and student ones, they help to control its stress, they have better interpersonal relations and they are developed better in their surroundings; verifying therefore the hypothesis that was made from the beginning of the investigation wanting to know that the dance helps the students to have a better psychological well-being
