Systemic lupus erythematosus constitutes an autoimmune type disease, with a chronic course that shows a very varied presentation. It has been identified as one of the main complications, the presence of lupus nephritis and at the same time, those who deal with this complication usually show cardiovascular cerebrovascular events. Objective: Review the available scientific literature on the latest evidence of cardiovascular risk factors in adults patients with NL who have cardiovascular disease. Materials and methods: For the development of this work, a bibliographic search has been carried out in different search sources such as Pudmed, Medline, Google academic, Researchgate, Relesser, and the database of the Simón Bolívar University Conclusion : Cardiovascular risk factors have become one of the main problems in patients with LES. Among the risk factors found in SLE patients with cardiovascular disease were: smoking, high blood pressure, obesity and overweight, alcohol intake and type II diabetes mellitus; therefore, the identification of cardiovascular risk factors in patients with NL early is essential, in order to improve their management and have a strict control of the activity of the disease and increase their survival.
