Propuesta curricular contextualizada para el área de inglés: una oportunidad para potencializar la educación para el turismo en el departamento de Córdoba

Resumen
El presente trabajo de investigación explica una experiencia enfocada en el
desarrollo curricular del área de inglés en la educación secundaria y media, en
instituciones educativas vinculadas al programa Colegios Amigos del Turismo,
ubicadas en municipios del departamento de Córdoba, Colombia. Este estudio
resulta de gran relevancia para mejorar la calidad de la enseñanza del idioma inglés
en la educación secundaria y media, lo cual contribuirá al desarrollo académico y
personal de los estudiantes, así como a su futura inserción en un mundo cada vez
más globalizado.
Esta investigación es de carácter cualitativa basada en un paradigma
sociocrítico ya que describe realidades individuales producto de las relaciones del
sujeto con el objeto de estudio. Este tipo de investigación es principalmente
contextual y enfatiza el reconocimiento de la realidad subjetiva de los participantes.
Esta propuesta se trabaja bajo la investigación acción educativa, porque ocurre
desde el punto de vista de quienes actúan e interactúan en la situación problema,
en este caso docentes y estudiantes.
Para el caso de la investigación se trabaja con estudiantes y profesores de
inglés de los grados superiores (10 y 11) de las instituciones que pertenecen al
programa colegios amigos del turismo en el departamento de Córdoba. Los
instrumentos por utilizar para la recolección de datos son la entrevista
semiestructurada, el grupo focal y el análisis documental.
Es así como, a partir de la socialización de las experiencias individuales y del
trabajo en equipo de los actores participantes, se pretende establecer propuestas
que desde el currículo contextualizado para el área de inglés ayude a promover
iniciativas de cambios de pensamiento y acción que promuevan la enseñanza de
una educación para el turismo
This research project presents an experience focused on curriculum development in the English subject in secondary and high school in schools linked to the program Colegios Amigos del Turismo, located in the Department of Córdoba, Colombia. This study is of great relevance in order to improve the quality of the teaching of the English language in the secondary and High School, which will contribute to the academic and personal development of the students, just as their future insertion in a very globalized world. This research is of a qualitative nature based on a social critical paradigm, since it describes individual realities resulting from the relationships of the subject with the object of study. This type of research is mainly contextual and emphasizes the recognition of the subjective reality of the participants. This proposal is worked under educational action research since it happens under the point of view of those who act and interact in the problem situation, in this case, teachers and students. The population of this study are English teachers and students in secondary and High School from grades 10th and 11th in institutions that are included in the program Colegios Amigos del Turismo in the Department of Cordoba. The data collection instruments to employ are the semi structured interview, focus group and document analysis. That is how, from the presentation of individual experiences and the teamwork of the participants, the research pretends to establish proposals from a contextualized English curriculum that help promote initiatives of change in thoughts and actions, that promote the teaching of and education for tourism.
