| spa |
dc.description.abstract | The COVID outbreak affected not only the health system in Latin America, but, in turn, the already weakened institutions of democracy, demonstrating decades of deficiencies and systematic failures to respond to the crisis without using authoritarian practices. For this reason, this essay will study the impact on compliance with the SDG Rule of Law during the coronavirus emergency, since the Colombian government used authoritarian practices, considering the theory of the decline of democracy and the economic risks that this represents in the present. The type of this research was explanatory and descriptive, using the qualitative method. Preliminary results showed that political, social, and economic conditions in Colombia were precarious and with the COVID outbreak, they worsened. In fact, civil and human rights were severely affected by the measures used to stop the spread of the virus. For this reason, it is important to focus on national and regional dialogue to monitor and verify that democratic governments refrain from such authoritarian practices. | eng |
