Resumen
En diferentes partes del mundo y en Colombia, el cambio climático ha ocasionado múltiples catástrofes. En la población en general existe mucha desinformación, controversia, percepciones erróneas acerca de esta temática. La comprensión de jóvenes e infantes de esta problemática ambiental es generalmente limitada e inexacta. Con base en que este fenómeno puede convertirse en una amenaza inminente para las próximas generaciones, la educación puede activar la participación de individuos y comunidades, buscando lograr modificaciones en la actitud y el comportamiento, con el objetivo de que las personas adopten un papel más comprometido en los esfuerzos de mitigación y adaptación al cambio climático. Por lo tanto, el proceso educativo cobra gran importancia para promover las habilidades y la conciencia sociocultural. Ante esta situación, la presente tesis aspira a construir una respuesta educativa fundamentada, concreta y ajustada al contexto que nos ocupa. En particular, este estudio de caso presenta por objetivo plantear una propuesta pedagógica capaz de fortalecer la formación ambiental y la comprensión del impacto del cambio climático, basada en la Ecopedagogía y el Aprendizaje Basado en Proyectos, para la institución educativa La Divina Pastora de Cúcuta. Esta propuesta pedagógica, enmarcada en la tesis doctoral, se fundamenta tanto en los lineamientos teóricos como en los resultados empíricos del discurso de los participantes. Asimismo, puede dan lugar a una transferencia satisfactoria de conocimientos, actitudes y comportamientos ambientales a la comunidad educativa, siendo una vía eficaz para el cambio de mentalidad, que busca hacer frente a las amenazas generadas por el cambio climático.
In different parts of the world and in Colombia, climate change has caused multiple catastrophes. In the general population there is a lot of misinformation, controversy and erroneous perceptions about this issue. The understanding of young people and children of this environmental problem is generally limited and inaccurate. Based on the fact that this phenomenon could become an imminent threat for the next generations, education can activate the participation of individuals and communities, seeking to achieve changes in attitude and behavior, with the objective that people adopt a more committed role in the efforts to mitigate and adapt to climate change. Therefore, the educational process takes on great importance to promote skills and sociocultural awareness. In view of this situation, this thesis aims to build an educational response that is grounded, concrete and adjusted to the context at hand. In particular, the objective of this case study is to propose a pedagogical proposal capable of strengthening environmental education and the understanding of the impact of climate change, based on Ecopedagogy and Project Based Learning, for the school La Divina Pastora in Cúcuta. This pedagogical proposal, framed in the doctoral thesis, is based on both the theoretical guidelines and the empirical results of the participants' discourse. Likewise, it can lead to a satisfactory transfer of knowledge, attitudes and environmental behaviors to the educational community, being an effective way to change mentality, which seeks to face the threats generated by climate change.
