Resumen
Antecedentes: Liderazgo es el conjunto de habilidades gerenciales que tiene un ser humano para influir en la forma de ser y actuar de las personas, con cuyo fin de alcanzar unas metas preestablecidas en donde cada uno de los integrantes del grupo se beneficiara del resultado. Es importante el ejercicio del liderazgo en cada uno de los actos de la vida personal y profesional del individuo, y así abrir un camino hacia el éxito, para obtener el resultado de objetivos, metas y estrategias planteadas y deseadas en lo que se hace. A pesar de ser algo innato, en todo ser humano a veces está escondido, dormido, y se necesita de una motivación de un buen trabajo en equipo, un impulso para desarrollarlo, como es el fortalecimiento de las habilidades, mediante estudios, el conocimiento de experiencias y evidencias científicas que hoy por hoy han logrado innovar los procesos de las empresas o instituciones en las diferentes área o servicios que ofrecen. Objetivos: Determinar los estilos el liderazgo que ejercen los profesionales de enfermería en una clínica de Barranquilla, Colombia. E identificar los estilos de liderazgo y variables sociodemográficas de los profesionales de enfermería en la clínica elegida para el estudio. Materiales y Métodos: Este fue un estudio cuantitativo, descriptivo, transversal, la población y muestra estuvo constituida por 82 enfermeras(os) de la institución prestadora de servicios de salud de IV nivel. Por lo anterior, el muestreo de la presente investigación es un muestreo no probabilístico de conveniencia, por lo que se llegó al total de enfermeras /os que estuvieron laborando durante la
recolección de la información según cargo y turnos. La técnica que se utilizó para recopilar la información en la población de estudio fue la observación no participativa en la cual el investigador vigilo la situación, de forma abierta o escondida, pero no se participó en ella, es decir no se involucró con los sujetos observados.
Background: Leadership is the set of managerial skills that a human being has to influence the way of being and acting of people, in order to achieve pre-established goals where each of the members of the group will benefit from the result. It is important to exercise leadership in each of the acts of personal and professional life of the individual, and thus open a path to success, to obtain the result of objectives, goals and strategies set and desired in what is done. In spite of being something innate, in every human being sometimes it is hidden, dormant, and it needs a motivation of a good team work, an impulse to develop it, as it is the strengthening of the abilities, through studies, the knowledge of experiences and scientific evidences that nowadays have managed to innovate the processes of the companies or institutions in the different areas or services that they offer. Objectives: To determine the leadership styles exercised by nursing professionals in a clinic in Barranquilla, Colombia. And to identify the leadership styles and sociodemographic variables of the nursing professionals in the clinic chosen for the study. Materials and Methods: This was a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study, the population and sample consisted of 82 nurses of the institution providing IV level health services. Therefore, the sampling of this research is a non-probabilistic convenience sampling, so that the total number of nurses who were working during the collection of information according to position and shifts was reached. The technique used to collect information from the study population was non-participatory observation in which the researcher monitored the situation, openly or hidden, but did not participate in it, i.e. did not get involved with the subjects observed.
