A new coronavirus outbreak emerged on December 31, 2019 in Wuhan, China, causing commotion between the medical community and the rest of the world. This new strain of coronavirus was referred to as SARS-CoV-2, causing a large number of cases and deaths worldwide, becoming a global public health emergency. SARSCoV- 2 is a virus with high homology with other pathogenic coronaviruses, such as those caused by zoonoses with bats (SARS-CoV). SARS-CoV-2 has caused more than 1.41 million deaths worldwide and in Colombia there have been more than 36 thousand deaths. From the database created at Simón Bolívar University with the result of positive tests for the SARS-CoV-2 between april 18th and May 31st, 2020. We analized the incidence and distribution of infected patients in the 5 localities of the city of Barranquilla. It was concluded that there was a faster progression of contagions in the south-east and south-west, in turn a stagnation in the contagion figures in localities where initially there were more reports, specifically the locality of Riomar. We also observed the highest incidence among Stratified 1,2, and 3 classes.
