Sex education is considered the most characteristic phenomenon of the present time, because it teaches adolescents to distinguish sexual behavior and to appreciate human dignity at its highest value. It is also appreciated as a tool that helps us to choose habits and make good decisions in the areas of sex and sexuality throughout our lives. In sex education, more than giving scientific and exhaustive information about anatomy, physiology and sexual pathology, we intend to promote attitudes of understanding, experiencing respect for the peculiarities, generating doubts that lead to clarifications, and encouraging the debate of facts versus the debate of rights. In this way, we will come to rediscover a new sexual cultural model that promotes satisfactory sexuality without focusing it so much on genitals, favoring a critical attitude towards masked advertising campaigns that contradict the message they really seem to intend to convey (Luz Santiago Restoy, 2009). This article presents a detailed and structured analysis of the quality of sexual education in Carmen de bolivar, implemented from some institutions of this municipality, which was carried out with adolescents between 12 and 19 years of age, showing that the training provided is deficient. By means of a quantitative research, seeking to understand and approach the problem from the point of view of the experience of those affected, for this, the questionnaire was used as the main tool where the results were that students are living their sexuality with a lack of information on basic issues to exercise a healthy, safe and free sexuality; in conditions of risk due to the low or null use of contraceptive methods and risk of sexually transmitted diseases. Therefore, not everyone has the necessary knowledge and habits to maintain good sexual and reproductive health.
