The quality of the beaches is of great importance to promote tourism in the countries, since they provide job opportunities for local people, in addition to creating recreation areas for a family environment, they promote a habitat for marine animals and plants. However, the contamination of the beaches increases every day, thus affecting the health of bathers, in which they cause illnesses or infections when exposed to a pathogen. In this research, a bibliographical review was carried out in order to know and study the microbiological quality of the sediments of the beaches of different countries such as Africa, USA, New Zealand, Switzerland and Spain. As a result, the CT and TEC densities were higher in sediment and due to the overlapping FIB intervals, there is no variability when comparing the amount of FIB in matrices
