Political leadership has been analyzed from multiple angles and has been deepened from various perspectives, referring to the female political exercise. The political participation of women establishes that this is the action allowed to a person or group in order to influence public affairs, such as election processes to positions, actions of political actors, etc. Tello, F. (2009) states that women's political participation is constituted through struggles to protect the rights recognized in laws and decrees, since conditions of discrimination and exclusion still persist It can be said that in Colombian democracy a progressive growth has been achieved, due to the perseverance of women for having participation conditions equal to men, which has been an issue that has been going on for years, today it is possible to discuss female political leadership widely. It is worth mentioning that the work carried out by feminist currents has borne fruit and has shown progress with gender quotas, women now show greater autonomy, greater capacity, greater strength and of course, greater leadership, however, adequate policies are required, that contribute to strengthening the political exercise of women.
