dc.description.abstractEl síndrome del manguito rotador incluye un conjunto de afecciones que enmarcan la articulación del hombro; siendo el dolor una de las quejas más comunes y el cual aumenta con la edad como consecuencia de los cambios degenerativos de la población, conllevando a limitación del rango articular incapacidad para ejecutar actividades laborales y de la vida diaria. El presente documento es una recopilación de recomendaciones basadas en la evidencia científica existente en relación a procesos dolorosos específicos del hombro, y cuya finalidad es guiar a los estudiantes en formación y a los fisioterapeutas en su actuación profesional en el proceso de la toma de decisiones sobre intervenciones oportunas y efectivas en la solución y resolución de problemas clínicos surgidos a partir de la atención del paciente. Para el abordaje fisioterapéutico se tuvieron en cuenta referentes teóricos de la profesión, el modelo descrito por la American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) y la Clasificación Internacional del Funcionamiento, la Discapacidad y la Salud (CIF)spa
