Resumen
La Diabetes Mellitus Tipo 2 (DM2) comprende a un grupo de enfermedades crónico- metabólicas de causa multifactorial. Se asocia con un deterioro relativo o absoluto en la secreción de insulina, junto con diversos grados de resistencia periférica a la acción de la insulina. Es una de las enfermedades más prevalentes en el mundo moderno, consecuencia, también, del aumento de la obesidad, la alimentación inapropiada y el sedentarismo, este último explicado, en parte, por el abuso de la tecnología, las facilidades de la modernidad y una de las principales causas de muerte y discapacidad, además que generan altos costos para su cuidado.
Objetivo : Elaborar e implementar una prueba piloto de un Instrumento para conocer estilos de vida en pacientes con DMT2 en un Hospital de Primer Nivel en Barranquilla.
Materiales y métodos: Estudio descriptivo, transversal, para la implementación de una prueba piloto de un instrumento diseñado, se incluyeron 13 pacientes con diagnóstico de DMT2 que asisten al programa de enfermos crónicos no trasmisibles (ECNT) de un hospital de primer nivel de atención de Barranquilla. Se incluyeron variables de interés en el estudio como edad, nombre, sexo, algunos hábitos, alimentación diaria, realización de actividad física, tipos de alimentos que consumen.

It is associated with a relative or absolute impairment in insulin secretion, along with varying degrees of peripheral resistance to insulin action. It is one of the most prevalent diseases in the modern world, a consequence, also, of the increase in obesity, inappropriate diet and sedentary lifestyle, the latter explained, in part, by the abuse of technology, the facilities of modernity and a of the main causes of death and disability, in addition to generating high costs for their care. Objective: Prepare and implement a pilot test of an Instrument to know lifestyles in patients with DMT2 in a First Level Hospital in Barranquilla. Materials and methods: Descriptive, cross-sectional study, for the implementation of a pilot test of a designed instrument, 13 patients with a diagnosis of T2DM who attend the program for chronic non-communicable patients (ECNT) of a first level care hospital in Barranquilla. Variables of interest were included in the study such as age, name, sex, some habits, daily diet, physical activity, types of food consumed.
