Objective: To determine the use of urban parks for the practice of physical activity in Barranquilla. Materials and Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out in 6 city parks. The SOPARC was used as a measuring tool to collect data on: levels of physical activity, gender and age group. The PARA Instrument was applied, which evaluates park conditions, such as: accessibility, use, supervision and organization of observed activities. Results: The total number of users was 26,141, 11,105, corresponding to 42% in women and 15,036, corresponding to 58% of men. It was found that the level of physical activity (AF) of males was higher than that of females, with a greater tendency in the adult. The male gender showed a higher level of moderate to vigorous physical activity (82.19%), the female gender recorded a lower level (79.75%). There was also a greater sedentary lifestyle in women with 20.25% compared to 17.81% in men. The conditions of the parks according to the instrument FOR which determined that the scenarios are accessible and usable were evidenced in this investigation. Conclusion: In general, low percentages are presented in organized activities, which, if encouraged, would considerably increase the use of the park, and also increase the levels of physical activity (AF). This project encourages the city authorities to continue with public policies that privilege the park as a scenario for health promotion.
