Industry 4.0 technologies represent an unprecedented cross-cutting concept that affects the current context in which people, organizations and countries operate, oriented towards the search for more efficient logistics processes with optimized use of resources. Considering the above, this study examined the implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies in the supply chain, considering challenges, opportunities and their impact on sustainability. The basic and descriptive research was developed through a documentary review of publications in the last ten years, which with the definition of search equations and exclusion criteria in the Scopus database, allowed obtaining 350 publications. A quantitative analysis was performed on these publications. Likewise, a qualitative analysis was made of a portfolio of 30 articles that supported the research and were obtained by applying the Methodi Ordinatio. The results indicate that the interest in the subject is remarkably recent with a growing trend in publications as of 2017, with scientific production from the United Kingdom and India standing out. From the studies reviewed, it was observed that Industry 4.0 has gained great importance in today's industry, motivated by the need to incorporate sustainability aspects in business activities. It is also noted that, in the global scenario, the implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies marks a significant gap between developed countries and emerging economies. For its part, Colombia faces a more challenging scenario in terms of aspects such as technological infrastructure and cybersecurity. Finally, it is concluded that technologies such as 3D printing, the Internet of Things and data analysis are transforming supply chain management, allowing greater flexibility, efficiency and sustainability in processes. However, this rapid adoption brings with it significant challenges, such as environmental, social and economic balance.
