Laparoscopic surgery has revolutionized the surgical field by offering efficient visualization of the abdominal cavity without requiring significant incisions. Although the ergonomics associated with this practice have been explored, few studies have focused on the specific design of the Laparoscopic Tower, a crucial component. This research addresses deficiencies in the current tower design, highlighting the need for ergonomic interventions to enhance surgeon comfort and efficiency. Reviewing previous research focusing on the ergonomics of laparoscopic surgery, including studies on surgeon postures, it is noted that while the importance of ergonomics is emphasized, there has been little discussion about proposing a redesign of the laparoscopy tower, which is where the primary issue lies. The project aims to highlight the ergonomic challenges faced by surgeons and nurses who control the tower, from a research perspective, emphasizing the ergonomic and functional issues they encounter during the process. It underscores the need to intervene in the design of the Laparoscopic Tower. Justification is based on identifying critical points in the current design, especially regarding aspects such as monitor height and component layout, using key ergonomic principles. Optimizing the Laparoscopic Tower will not only improve the comfort and efficiency of surgical staff but also reduce surgical times and associated risks. This project is expected to foster innovation and contribute to the prevention of occupational diseases, thus advancing laparoscopic surgery and continuously improving healthcare. Through this project, a detailed assessment of current deficiencies in laparoscopic tower ergonomics is expected, along with concrete proposals for possible redesign. The research is anticipated not only to contribute to understanding ergonomic problems in medical practice but also to provide solutions to enhance the surgeon's experience. The aim is to raise the Laparoscopic Tower to new quality standards, bringing innovation to the field of laparoscopic surgery. The future transformation would not only directly benefit medical personnel by improving their work environment but also have a significant impact on the overall effectiveness of laparoscopic surgeries. Ultimately, this initiative represents a fundamental step towards a future where medical technology more precisely adapts to the ergonomic and functional needs of healthcare professionals. This project promotes innovation and the prevention of occupational diseases, improving health care. It is expected to evaluate the current deficiencies and propose concrete solutions for the redesign of the tower. The ultimate goal is to raise quality standards in laparoscopic surgery and adapt medical technology to the ergonomic and functional needs of health professionals.
