This research is developed within the framework of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), promoted by UNESCO as an educational response to the social, economic, and environmental challenges currently facing the world. Its main purpose is to strengthen educational practices that contribute to sustainable development (SD) in a technical institution located in the southwestern area of Barranquilla, within the context of Education for Work and Human Development (ETDH). This educational level, conceived as a formative space linking learning with the social and labor world, represents a strategic scenario for the training of citizens capable of transforming their environment through the application of sustainable competencies. The research stems from the recognition of a global crisis marked by social inequality, environmental degradation, and economic tensions, which demand that education assume a leading role as an agent of transformation. In the Colombian context, regulatory progress has been made regarding ESD; however, gaps remain in its articulation with ETDH. Consequently, this study seeks to analyze how technical institutions can integrate sustainability as a transversal approach, consistent with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
