Influencia del Síndrome de Burnout en estudiantes universitarios

Resumen
En la ciudad de Cúcuta existen muy pocas investigaciones sobre el síndrome de burnout académico y esto representa un problema para las instituciones igualmente ya que pueden ocurrir ciertos eventos como deserciones de la universidad, entre otros, para poder analizar la presencia de este síndrome en los estudiantes universitarios de la carrera de psicología de la universidad Simón Bolívar, se utilizó el Maslach Burnout Inventory Student Survery (MBI SS) creado por Schaufeli et al., (2002) que es una adaptación para poderse aplicar al sector académico del Maslach Burnout Inventory General Survey (MBI-GS) creado por la doctora Christina Maslach (1993) donde nos dice que una persona tiene burnout cuando cumple con característica como son niveles de agotamiento y cinismo altos, niveles de autoeficacia bajos, de 695 estudiantes adscritos al programa de psicología, se obtuvo una muestra de 331 estudiantes entre hombres con edades de 18 años en adelante, a los cuales se les aplico el test MBI-SS adaptado en Colombia por Martínez, et al., (2016), donde se encontró que los estudiantes del programa de psicología no cumplen con el diagnóstico del síndrome de
burnout, pero en la población masculina se encontró que a medida que estos presentan más agotamiento en semestres avanzados, su autoeficacia aumenta igualmente, mientras que con las mujeres se mantienen en niveles medios sin grandes cambio
In the city of Cúcuta there is very little research on academic burnout syndrome and this represents a problem for institutions as well, since certain events can occur such as university dropouts, among others. In order to analyze the presence of this syndrome in university students of the psychology program at the Simón Bolívar University, the Maslach Burnout Inventory Student Survey (MBI-SS) created by Schaufeli et al, (2002) which is an adaptation to be applied to the academic sector of the Maslach Burnout Inventory General Survey (MBI-GS) created by Dr. Christina Maslach (1993) which tells us that a person has burnout when he/she meets characteristics such as high levels of exhaustion and cynicism, low levels of self-efficacy, of 695 students enrolled in the psychology program, a sample of 331 students was obtained among men aged 18 years and older, to whom the MBI-SS test was applied adapted in Colombia by Martinez, et al, (2016), where it was found that the students of the psychology program do not meet the diagnosis of burnout syndrome, but in the male population it was found that as they present more burnout in advanced semesters, their self efficacy also increases, while with women they remain at average levels without major changes
