Resumen
Introducción: El Síndrome de Burnout es un problema que adquiere mayor importancia cada día en los estudiantes universitarios de todo el mundo, conlleva a un bajo rendimiento académico, desgaste físico y emocional. El diagnóstico correcto y oportuno del síndrome, permite prevenir complicaciones psicosomáticas. Objetivo: Determinar la frecuencia del diagnóstico Síndrome de Burnout en estudiantes de octavo a noveno semestre de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Simón Bolívar durante el periodo de 2020-1, en Barranquilla, Atlántico. Métodos: Es un estudio descriptivo de corte transversal, realizado en estudiantes de medicina de octavo a noveno semestre. El instrumento empleado fue “Inventario de Burnout de Maslach - Encuesta de estudiantes”, la selección de la población fue determinada por el número de personas que respondieron la encuesta, posteriormente para la obtención de los resultados se tabularon los datos en la herramienta Microsoft Excel 2016. Resultados: De los 45 estudiantes a quienes se les aplicó la encuesta “Inventario de Burnout de Maslach - Encuesta de estudiantes” el 11.1% presentan Síndrome de Burnout, el 55.5% de los estudiantes se encuentran en riesgo de presentar el síndrome y el 33.3% equivalentes a 15 estudiantes, no presentó ninguna de las variables. Conclusión: La frecuencia del Síndrome de Burnout en los estudiantes de octavo a noveno semestre de medicina de la universidad Simón Bolívar fue de 11.1%. .
Introduction: Burnout Syndrome is a problem that is becoming increasingly important in college students around the world, leading to poor academic performance, physical and emotional burnout. The correct and timely diagnosis of the syndrome allows the prevention of psychosomatic complications. Objective: To determine the frequency of the diagnosis of Burnout Syndrome in students from eighth to ninth semester of the Simón Bolívar University of Medicine during the period 2020-1, in Barranquilla, Atlántico. Methods: It is a cross-sectional descriptive study, conducted on medical students from the eighth to the ninth semester. The instrument used was "Maslach Burnout Inventory - Student Survey", the selection of the population was determined by the number of people who responded to the survey, later to obtain the results the data was tabulated in the Microsoft Excel 2016 tool. Results: Of the 45 students who were surveyed in the Maslach Burnout Inventory - Student Survey, 11.1% had Burnout Syndrome, 55.5% of the students were at risk of having the syndrome, and 33.3%, equivalent to 15 students, had none of the variables. Conclusion: The frequency of Burnout Syndrome in students from eighth to ninth semester of medicine at the Simon Bolivar University was 11.1%.
