dc.description.abstractLa segunda edición del presente libro es la continuación del primero que aborda la investigación sobre la neuropsicología de las funciones ejecutivas (FE), proceso que viene realizando el grupo Neurociencias del Caribe desde hace aproximadamente diez años, y que se ha ido constituyendo en una fuente sólida de generación de conocimiento. En está segunda edición se incluyen además de los estudios de fenotipificación de las alteraciones del control inhibitorio, en personas afectadas con TDAH familiar, tema que hace parte principal del proyecto de investigación de este grupo, estudios sobre las funciones ejecutivas en personas con esquizofrenia, producto además de los trabajos de investigación de la maestría en Neuropsicología que fue creada por el grupo en la Universidad Simón Bolívar. Aunque se trata de estudios basados en pacientes con alteraciones de las funciones ejecutivas secundarias a una condición patológica, lo que marca diferencias con pacientes sanos, también es cierto que de esta manea se puede esclarecer el papel que juegan las FE en la génesis del desarrollo neuropsicológico, contribuyendo a la generación de modelos explicativos tanto de la condición patológica como de la sana.spa
