Work according to the International Labor Organization "is the set of human activities, paid or unpaid, that produce goods or services in an economy, or that satisfy the needs of a community or provide the necessary means of sustenance for individuals" (ILO, 2004), in the same way when talking about employment, the International Labor Organization makes it known that it is that work that is carried out in order to obtain a payment, which can be a salary. The objective of this article is to interpret the consequences of ethno-racial discrimination in the workplace for Afro-descendant women. This investigation is justified because despite legal advances and the construction of inclusive public policies that have been generated in recent years, the working conditions of thousands of Afro-Colombian workers continue to be alarming, since they are often discriminated against by society itself. The methodology used in this article used the historical hermeneutic research paradigm, the inductive method is applied, the type of research is descriptive, with an intentional sample, it focuses on the choice of Afro-Colombian women who work in domestic service in Barraquilla. The main conclusion is that throughout history the original population of the African continent has suffered mistreatment, humiliation, aggression due to the fact that they have the color "black" in their skin tone, they have carried the weight of the aggression generated by the majority group in the country.
