| spa |
dc.description.abstract | COVID-19 can affect many other organs in addition to the respiratory system, particularly in the kidney, heart , digestive tract, blood, and nervous system. As for the kidney altera t ions , preliminary reports indicated an incidence of 3%–9% and there is growing evidenc e that acute kidney injury (AKI) is prevalent in SARSCoV-2 infection, with a repor t ed incidenc e of 8%–17%, reaching 35% in critical patients , and that this condition is considered a poor prognostic factor. In this sense, the development of AKI in the context of COVID-19 has an associated mortality of 91.7%. | spa |
