Introduction: Lupus nephritis occurs when lupus antibodies affect structures in the kidneys. Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a complex autoimmune disease, where it has been shown that sufferers are more susceptible to developing infections compared to the general population. Objective: To determine the prevalence of bacterial infections associated with patients with lupus nephritis belonging to NEFRORED in the Clínica de la Costa, Barranquilla, during the period 2019-2 to 2020-1. Methods: Descriptive, cross-sectional study. The source of information was the database of patients evaluated by the NEFRORED nephrology service. Results: Of the 37 patients with lupus nephritis, 78.3% of 29 patients had urinary tract infection (UTI), of which 86.2% were 25 women and 13.8% were 4 men. Conclusion: Bacterial infections associated with patients with lupus nephritis that were found were from the urinary tract and skin (pyodermatitis).
