Resumen
El presente estudio tiene como objetivo analizar los factores familiares que se asocian con la permanencia estudiantil de los estudiantes del programa de Medicina de la Universidad Simón Bolívar de Barranquilla. La investigación se fundamenta teóricamente en modelos clásicos como el de integración académica y social de Tinto (1987), que sostiene que los estudiantes con mayor sentido de pertenencia y apoyo social tienen más probabilidades de persistir. Metodológicamente, el estudio adopta un enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo descriptivo y diseño transversal. Se aplicó un instrumento de 20 preguntas en formato Likert a una muestra de 50 estudiantes de pregrado del programa de Medicina.
The objective of this study is to analyze the family factors associated with student permanence of students in the Medicine program of the Universidad Simón Bolívar de Barranquilla. The research is theoretically based on classic models such as Tinto's (1987) academic and social integration model, which argues that students with a greater sense of belonging and social support are more likely to persist. Methodologically, the study adopts a quantitative approach, descriptive and cross-sectional design. A 20- question Likert-format instrument was applied to a sample of 50 undergraduate students of the Medicine program.
