This research seeks to establish the level of incidence that families have as a primary unit of socialization and political formation in the construction of political culture in the San Andrés Islands. Traditional knowledge of political socialization has historically shown that children tend to imitate the ideological orientations of their parents. In this regard, it should be noted that, despite the transformations experienced by island families due to different phenomena (abandonment of the Colombian state and lack of responses to the political and territorial claims of the natives, influence of other cultures, sociopolitical crises, corruption, drug trafficking and money laundering, among others), the family continues to be an effective space in the process of socialization and construction of political culture, for this reason, it is necessary to identify the set of elements of family education associated with the development of culture politics of the families of the San Andrés islands. To achieve this objective, the qualitative method is used through the observation of the educational dynamics of the department of San Andrés. On the other hand, the influence of these phenomena affects the training and political culture of the native population, and defines their negative approach to the political system and their low citizen participation as a mechanism for exercising political power. The analysis of each of the phenomena that are part of the political culture of the islander must go hand in hand with their modus vivendi, their culture, their customs and their beliefs. As a result, it has been achieved that parents admit that it is necessary to break paradigms, since they recognize the importance of being models in the lives of their children, concluding that it is necessary to establish meetings of respectful and critical dialogue, where adults and children build norms that Help them understand their duties and obligations in the family and society.
