Resumen
Esta investigación se enmarca en un enfoque cuantitativo donde se propone analizar la relación de la calidad del servicio de pediatría y las estancias hospitalarias prolongada en la ESE HNJ de Barranquilla. Para ello se parte de unos fundamentos teórico-conceptuales generales (enfoque sistémico de las organizaciones) que permiten el acercamiento al fenómeno particular que tiene lugar en la precitada institución (dilación de las estancias y factores de calidad); características éstas que corresponden al método deductivo de investigación.
En cuanto a la información requerida, corresponde, por una parte, a información secundaria de fuentes institucionales. Su contenido estará relacionado con registros (indicadores) de desempeño de servicios del ESE HNJ. Por otra parte, se recabará información primaria originada en los usuarios del servicio de hospitalización o sus familiares, tocante a aspectos de calidad y satisfacción con servicios de la institución. La técnica empleada en este caso fue la encuesta, y el levantamiento de datos se desarrolló en un solo corte de tiempo. Esto último caracteriza un estudio transversal.
El tratamiento de la información procuró objetividad, consignándola de conformidad con la ocurrencia del fenómeno estudiado, esto es, sin manipulación deliberada de variables. De este modo el diseño metodológico es no experimental. El proyecto no pretende determinar relaciones causales entre las variables, sino la observación e interpretación detallada de sus comportamientos, es decir, que el alcance de la investigación es descriptivo.
This research is part of a quantitative approach where it is proposed to analyze the relationship between the quality and efficiency indicators of the pediatric service and the prolonged hospital stays in the ESN HNJ of Barranquilla.
