Radiation is a transfer of energy in the form of waves or particles through space or a material medium. They move at great speed, with appreciable transport of energy. If the radiation carries enough energy to cause ionization in the medium that it passes through, it is called Ionizing Radiation, otherwise it is called Non-Ionizing Radiation; Non-ionizing radiation is less penetrating than ionizing radiation, and gene expression in response to the latter in people with electromagnetic hypersensitivity is still a matter of discussion. The present study compared the expression of different genes related to the apoptotic process, among people residing near cellular antennas with symptoms of electromagnetic hypersensitivity and people with hyperthyroidism under treatment with Yodo-131. Obtaining quantitative and qualitative information of the genetic response to biochemical and electromagnetic stress. Samples were taken from 4 patients, between 25 - 35 years old, two hyperthyroid patients in handling with Yodo-131 and two patients with electrosensitivity symptoms secondary to chronic exposure by telecommunication antenna, discarding in these patients by biochemical tests and imaging studies, alterations hematological, endocrine, cardiovascular, neurological, psychiatric and complicated visual disturbances.
