Resumen
Las danzas tradicionales del Carnaval de Barranquilla constituyen una de las joyas culturales
de esta tradición festiva. En la presente tesis doctoral se esboza la importancia de indagar en
las prácticas compartidas de estos colectivos, su salvaguardia y permanencia en el tiempo.
La investigación adopta los fundamentos de los estudios cualitativos y se acerca a las
narrativas de hacedores y portadores con el objetivo de analizar sus prácticas compartidas y
la salvaguardia del patrimonio cultural e inmaterial de las danzas tradicionales. A través de
las entrevistas a profundidad realizadas a los hacedores y portadores de las danzas de, se
identificaron las interacciones que les permiten transmitir las prácticas y significados de sus
danzas y finalmente se tomaron elementos teóricos y metodológicos para la preservación de
estas manifestaciones en el tiempo. Los hallazgos expusieron sus necesidades fundamentales
para la salvaguarda del patrimonio cultural inmaterial y al mismo tiempo permite reconocer
toda la riqueza que hacedores y portadores, aportan al Carnaval de Barranquilla como
Patrimonio Oral e Inmaterial de la Humanidad declarado por la UNESCO
The traditional dances of the Barranquilla Carnival constitute one of the cultural jewels of this festive tradition. This doctoral thesis outlines the importance of investigating the shared practices of these groups, their safeguarding and permanence over time. The research adopts the foundations of qualitative studies and approaches the narratives of makers and bearers with the aim of analyzing their shared practices and the safeguarding of the cultural and intangible heritage of traditional dances. Through in-depth interviews with the makers and bearers of the dances, the interactions that allow them to transmit the practices and meanings of their dances were identified and finally theoretical and methodological elements were taken for the preservation of these manifestations over time. . The findings exposed their fundamental needs for the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage and at the same time allow us to recognize all the wealth that makers and bearers contribute to the Barranquilla Carnival as Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity declared by UNESCO.
