Objective: Determine the stages of behavioral change against physical activity according to the body mass index of adults during pandemic time by COVID 19. Materials and Methods: cross-sectional study in 812 people over the age of 18 on the Colombian Caribbean coast, who were interviewed by telephone through a survey based on the Transteoric model of Prochaska-Diclemente and the Sedentary Behavior Meter. Analysis of variance test (ANOVA) and chi2 test for analysis of the collected data were. Results: during quarantine 53.9% of participants did not have a healthy weight as they were in the overweight/obesity range. In relation to the stages of behavior towards AF, 36.7% of participants are in Precontemplation with respect to the other states of change. The average obesity and overweight at various stages of behavior remained 26.9±3.2 kg/m2 and 33.8 (3.2) kg/m2. Conclusions: According to the stages of behavior against AF and BMI, during quarantine participants did not have a healthy weight, this suggests designing and implementing programs towards the promotion and participation of AF with special emphasis on home dominance that enable and encourage behavioral changes at this time.
