pública, desafiando a profesionales a aplicar tratamientos efectivos.
Substance Use Disorders (SUD) pose a threat to public health, challenging professionals to implement effective treatments. Although the combination of pharmacological and behavioral interventions is standard, they vary depending on the type of disorder, such as Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) and other SUDs. When pharmacological treatments are not approved, behavioral therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) are crucial. A case study on polysubstance use in Colombia highlights the high prevalence and most consumed substances. Polysubstance Use Dynamics reveal underlying psychological factors such as trauma and coexisting mental health issues, requiring specific therapeutic approaches. Research evaluates the effectiveness of pharmacotherapy and CBT in polysubstance use, aiming to enhance clinical practices and treatments for young adults. The research problem focuses on the effectiveness of these approaches in rehabilitating a polysubstance user. The combination of pharmacotherapy and CBT is depicted as a comprehensive approach that considers underlying factors. In conclusion, this approach promises to address not only substance use but also factors contributing to polysubstance use.
