The methodology employed was a documentary review of academic sources, government reports and previous studies on cultural tourism in the region. A qualitative approach was used, based on the collection and analysis of secondary information. The research design was descriptive and exploratory, in order to understand the social and economic dynamics generated by cultural tourism in Cúcuta. The results indicate that cultural tourism has had a positive impact on the local economy, generating employment and increasing income through sectors such as hotels, gastronomy and the sale of handicrafts. However, it has also generated challenges, such as gentrification and the commercialization of traditions, which has affected cultural authenticity. Despite these risks, tourism has allowed the revitalization of traditions and has strengthened the cultural identity of communities. In conclusion, to ensure sustainable development, it is essential to manage tourism responsibly, balancing economic benefits with cultural conservation and social equity.
