fomentar habilidades sociales, pensamiento positivos y eventualmente nuevas y
Background: Spiritual Intelligence is widely recognized as a capacity that people have to experience high levels of consciousness, full and integral development and unusual states of mind; which eventually implies a connection not only with themselves but also with a being superior to them in terms of confidence, security generated and concerning their beliefs. Objective: To interpret the meanings of EI in young college students experiencing stress in times of the Covid-19 pandemic. Materials and Methods: Qualitative research, from an interpretative paradigm, with phenomenological design. The participants are young university students belonging to the different programs of the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia in the Santa Marta Campus, who experience stress in times of pandemic due to Covid-19 according to the EEP-10 as inclusion criteria and the sociodemographic information of the university students will be taken into account. Likewise, an in-depth interview was applied whose script was validated by seven (7) judges with expertise in the subject, a focus group that was also subjected to prior validation by three (3) judges experienced in the subject and a sociodemographic survey that did not require validation. Results and conclusions: The students were able to generate a conceptualization close to the one proposed by the authors regarding the construct of Spiritual Intelligence, but additionally it is possible to evidence a kind of conjunction of elements that converge together such as: belief in God, religion and the same conception about themselves; recognizing the possibility of promoting social skills, positive thinking and eventually new and better ways to maintain a spiritual life that serves as a coping mechanism in the face of situations that occur in everyday life. Additionally, students understand the relevance that EI has within their environment, and much more when it is associated with religion; therefore, it is worth mentioning that in the context of the pandemic, people are able to recognize this ability as a concomitant part of the development of their lives.
