The investigation irrational beliefs in the young people between 13 and 20 years of age that have not been adopted and are welcomed by the Colombian Institute of Familiar Well-Being (I.C.B.F) North Historical Center of the city of Barranquilla, was focused in the theory of the irrational ideas of Albert, E (1990), that raises that this is joint of ingrained thoughts, which they lead counter-productive consequences and they pronounce in constant “Would have”, “I have”, “I must be approved by the other people”, “I am a useless person if I put myself anxious”, “Like making the things perfectly”, “He is terrible and catastrophic if the things they do not leave as I want”; the irrational beliefs are characterized for being absolutist, dogmatic, strong, nonempirical. The main element of the psychological upheaval, is in the irrational evaluation, little functional that the individual does of the reality. The population study object was conformed by 21 Young people of ages between 13 and 20 years, of the ICBF, that has not been adopted and is welcomed by this; of these the instrument to 9 could only be applied to him, since, the other 12 rest present/display some psychological upheavals that they prevented them to follow with the characteristics that the investigation deserved. Besides the Theory of Ellis, work with the classification of the 9 irrational beliefs standardized by Walter Riso, which are: Necessity of approval, self- exigency, To blame to others, Reaction to the Frustration, emotional Irresponsibility, Anxiety by preoccupation, Dependency, Influence of the past, Perfeccionismo. In the technique and instrument, I am used the inventory of Irrational Beliefs (IBT), created by Jones in 1978, in which the irrational beliefs imposed by Ellis and Riso in 1998 were compiled. The application of this Test I am realised in 9 Homes Substitutes or Homes of Positioning, where they are each of these young people in the city of Barranquilla; between the most significant results we found, a high end, the dependency idea, in the rest of the beliefs obtained a low result, which indicates little necessity to us of approval, self-exigency, to blame to others, reaction to the frustration, emotional irresponsibility, anxiety by preoccupation, influences of the past, perfeccionismo.
