Education plays an important role in people's lives, as it is a tool that allows for an improvement in their quality of life, enhances their skills, and increases productivity, thereby improving their economic situation. It also promotes equality, and it is at this point that the National Apprenticeship Service (SENA, in Spanish) offers free training programs in technical, technological, and complementary education. This encourages comprehensive training that includes values such as respect for life, critical thinking, leadership, solidarity, justice, equity, creativity, and innovation. In the normal dynamics of education and training, there are high dropout rates due to various reasons, including low academic performance, lack of motivation, financial constraints, health issues, parental unemployment, among many others. For the case study at the National Colombo German Center of the Atlantic Region of SENA, located in the city of Barranquilla, different studies have been conducted to reduce dropout rates. This research focuses on identifying the variables that contribute to the phenomenon of dropout at the National Apprenticeship Service (SENA) - National Colombo German Center (CNCA). Subsequently, using business intelligence tools, it aims to generate data, analyses, interpretations, and comparisons that facilitate the retention of apprentices. The goal is to identify factors with a higher probability of dropout and support apprentices in their training process. Ultimately, a predictive model will be developed to enhance the retention of apprentices in their training process.
