Talking about the accident rate in underground work is to mention what is perhaps one of the biggest problems that arise in the mining sector regardless of its legality, that is, if they have been granted the mining title or are worked from informality, in such a way that this is considered a high-risk work by facilitating accidents or occupational diseases that disturb physical well-being, mental and social of employees. This article has as a general objective to analyze the factors that affect the accident rate of the mining sector located in the yellow village, since this is one of the most latent problems of this labor sector, for this, a qualitative methodological design is used where it is intended to make a phenomenological study of the aforementioned problem and a non-probabilistic sample is taken for convenience that allows to take collaborators from different areas of work, for this a semi-structured survey is analyzed, and field diary of safe behavior in work areas in turn a search for current regulations in Colombia on safe underground work is made. As a conclusión of this article, it was found that the most relevant factor to generate an accident at work is the conditions of the job since most of the population surveyed mentions the lack of order, the stoking, the revision of the cut ceiling, and overconfidence are the primary reason to cause occupational accidents
