The objective of this study was to analyze the psychometric properties of a brief scale of belief in gender-based violence (CVG-DEJDS), applied to a sample of 384 women and men, selected by stratified random sampling with optimal affixation. The factorial structure, reliability and validity of the abbreviated version are evaluated. The 2-factor model is tested using Confirmatory Factorial Analysis (CFA), which includes two belief scales and gender violence. The scale demonstrates adequate psychometric properties, the AFC presents indices of goodness and adjustment (NFI=0,97; CFI=0,98; IFI=0,98; MFI=0,99). This version of the instrument is useful for research into gender violence and for measuring the impact of future promotion and prevention actions against the social phenomenon in question, which in turn has an impact on public health.
