Lack of impulse control is associated with anxiety and stress, which in turn can lead to aggressive reactions or maladaptive behaviors that make it a risk factor for society, causing insecurity and threat to the people who live around them, it may be a family member, neighbor or classmate or coworker and therefore unfortunately some of these people can become victims of some type of violence. For this reason psychological therapy is essential for all people, and especially in this population that has been found guilty of some criminal act since it is necessary that during the time of sanction they can develop social skills and also acquire tools that help control events that cause stress, anxious behaviors or aggressive reactions so that in this way they can have an effective reintegration into society without fear of causing aggressive or violent acts towards a person again. The case study is an example of the positive and effective results that psychological therapies can generate in a person who is sanctioned for an aggravated sexual act of violence using an A-B-A type clinical case methodology, and with a therapeutic approach from the cognitive behavioral focus, especially self-instruction strategies, with the aim of modifying verbal and cognitive repertoires allowing the person to have better behavior, stress control and reduction of impulsive behaviors, validating the effectiveness of these therapeutic approaches.
