Resumen
El objetivo de esta investigación fue comprender los impactos psicosociales frente al
abandono de los adultos mayores en la Fundación Hogar de Ancianos y Casa de Oración Santa
Teresa de los Andes de la ciudad de Cúcuta, Norte de Santander, metodológicamente, se
desarrolló desde un enfoque cualitativo a través de un paradigma interpretativo, utilizando el
método fenomenológico, la recolección de información se dio a través de la entrevista
semiestructurada, en la que participaron 3 adultos mayores pertenecientes a la fundación, estas
personas fueron elegidas a través de un muestreo no probabilístico, en el que se tuvieron en
cuenta criterios tales como, una condición o capacidad mental saludable, los resultados obtenidos
permitieron conocer los tipos de abandono más recurrentes tales como el físico, parcial y total;
así mismo, conocer que sienten el rechazo y que hubo una desintegración familiar desde que
fueron abandonados, lo que ocasiona un impacto psicosocial en lo emocional al sentir sus días
como una balanza, es decir, que se encuentran con días en los que se sienten bien y otros en los
que no.
The objective of this research was to understand the psychosocial impacts of the abandonment of the elderly in the Fundación Hogar de Ancianos and Casa de Oración Santa Teresa de los Andes in the city of Cúcuta, Norte de Santander, methodologically, it was developed from a qualitative approach. through an interpretative paradigm, using the phenomenological method, the collection of information was given through the semi-structured interview, in which 3 older adults belonging to the foundation participated, these people were chosen through a non-probabilistic sampling, in When criteria such as a healthy mental condition or capacity were taken into account, the results obtained allowed to know the most recurrent types of abandonment such as physical, partial and total; likewise, knowing that they feel rejection and that there was a family disintegration since they were abandoned, which causes a psychosocial impact on the emotional level by feeling their days as a scale, that is, they find days in which they feel good and others where not.
