Background: Urinary tract infections (UTIs) represent a frequent cause of medical consultation and hospitalization. The increasing antimicrobial resistance of uropathogens poses a major challenge to effective empirical treatment. This study aimed to characterize bacterial resistance profiles in positive urine cultures from adult patients treated at a high-complexity clinic in Barranquilla, Colombia. Objective: To analyze the microbial resistance profile in positive urine cultures obtained from patients diagnosed with urinary tract infection at a high-complexity clinic between 2022 and 2024. Methods: An observational, retrospective, and analytical study was conducted in patients aged 18 years or older with culture-confirmed UTI between January 2022 and December 2024. Cases with contaminated cultures, reinfections within the same episode, and incomplete records were excluded. Sociodemographic, clinical, microbiological, and outcome variables were analyzed. Descriptive statistics, nonparametric tests, and multivariate models were applied.eng
