Resumen
Introducción: Esta revisión sistemática evalúa los instrumentos de reconocimiento emocional con el objetivo de identificar sus propiedades psicométricas. El reconocimiento emocional, la capacidad de identificar y diferenciar estados emocionales en otros, es fundamental para la cognición social y se basa en estímulos no verbales como gestos faciales, movimiento corporal y tono de voz. A pesar de su importancia clínica, los instrumentos diseñados para reconocer emociones no han sido suficientemente validados.
Método: Se utilizó el modelo PRISMA para revisiones sistemáticas y meta-análisis, identificando 755 artículos en inglés y español que incluían pruebas de reconocimiento emocional. Tras aplicar criterios de inclusión y exclusión, cuatro artículos fueron seleccionados para un análisis detallado. Los estudios se enfocaron principalmente en adultos y se realizaron en países latinoamericanos y europeos.
Resultados: Los estudios revisados mostraron que los instrumentos de reconocimiento emocional evaluados no han sido completamente validados psicométricamente. Sin embargo, algunos indicadores mostraron propiedades psicométricas aceptables. Los artículos seleccionados, publicados entre 2012 y 2017, trabajaron principalmente con diseños transversales y muestras de adultos. Se utilizaron diversos instrumentos, incluyendo el Test de Reconocimiento de Emociones de Penn (ER-40) y el Test de Reconocimiento Emocional (ERT), pero la mayoría carece de una validación exhaustiva.
Introduction: This systematic review evaluates emotional recognition instruments to identify their psychometric properties. Emotional recognition, the ability to identify and differentiate emotional states in others, is crucial for social cognition and relies on non-verbal cues such as facial gestures, body movement, and voice tone. Despite its clinical importance, instruments designed to recognize emotions have not been sufficiently validated. Method: The PRISMA model for systematic reviews and meta-analyses was used, identifying 755 articles in English and Spanish that included emotional recognition tests. After applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, four articles were selected for detailed analysis. The studies focused primarily on adults and were conducted in Latin American and European countries. Results: The reviewed studies showed that the evaluated emotional recognition instruments have not been fully psychometrically validated. However, some indicators showed acceptable psychometric properties. The selected articles, published between 2012 and 2017, mainly used cross-sectional designs and adult samples. Various instruments were used, including the Penn Emotion Recognition Test (ER-40) and the Emotion Recognition Test (ERT), but most lack comprehensive validation.
