When we refer to gender violence, we address any act of aggression against the female and male gender, which is made invisible due to cultural issues or discrimination that inhibits the ability to enjoy their rights, however, in the present investigation it is intended to analyze from the social perspective the problem of gender-based violence in women between 16 and 30 years of age in the city of Cúcuta, Norte de Santander, in order to describe the phenomenon and find its possible implications; since according to figures reported by La Opinion (2021) they show that 90% of the cases correspond to women, 9% to men and 1% non-binary, for a total of 193 victims of gender-based violence (VBG) registered in the department between January 1 and July 26, according to bulletin #4 issued by the Gender Affairs Observatory of Norte de Santander, with the support of the Lunaria Mujer Fund. Also, this type of violence is framed with a strong connotation in the life of a couple, forced prostitution, conception or abortion, genital mutilation, sexual harassment or unwanted touching, among others adopted in different ways that link an individual in circumstance of vulnerability to others, with exogenous or endogenous factors in a symbolic way, so it is urgently necessary to study the problem and its social incidences from a qualitative paradigm of phenomenological approach, in such a way that the experiences of women victims and their possible consequences are covered. legal actions for a direct repair of the damage or the guarantee of their human rights.
